Netflix drama 'Beauty in the Beast' is under fire for causing a nuisance during filming.
Recently, there has been a controversy on social media and online communities regarding the filming restrictions at the Gaegeum Culture Cherry Blossom Road in Busan, a spot that gained fame for its cherry blossom.
The production team of 'Beauty in the Beast' blocked off about a 20-meter section of the main deck on the Gaegeum Culture Cherry Blossom Road for two days starting on the 1st to film. As the most popular photo spot during peak cherry blossom season, tourists had to turn back in disappointment when they learned that it was restricted. Furthermore, the night lighting was turned off and the filming equipment took up the narrow paths, causing inconvenience for pedestrians.
The lack of prior notice, with only single banner at the entrance, despite the fact that it is a well-known tourist destination, is drawing criticism. In particular, it was confirmed that the filming proceeded without clear official permits to occupy the roads or sidewalks, intensifying the controversy.
The backlash has also spread to the lead actors. Since the drama stars Moon Sangmin, Kim Minju, and Lomon (NB: Park Solomon), complaints are now being directed towards the actors as well.
