Infinite's father a.k.a Woollim Ent.'s CEO, Lee Jungyeop transfers ownership of the group's trademark rights with no conditions

On the 8th, Infinite's leader, Kim Sunggyu established 'Infinite Company' and prepares for the group's activities.

Infinite, who will celebrate their 13th debut anniversary this year, is a six-member boy group consisting of Kim Sunggyu, Jang Dongwoo, Nam Woohyun, Lee Sungyeol, L, and Lee Sungjong. Since their debut in 2010, they have produced hit songs such as 'Be Mine, 'Man in Love', 'Before The Dawn', etc, leading the 2nd generation of Hallyu. In 2017, Hoya left the group.

Infinite is the first idol group produced by Woollim Ent. At the time, Woollim Ent.'s CEO, Lee Jungyeop was so passionate about the group that he took out a loan to produce the group's music video. As a result of Infinite's success, Woollim Ent. was able to build its current headquarters in Donggyo-dong.

Right now, Infinite's members have separated from Woollim Ent. Nam Woohyun, who stayed with the company until the end, moved to JFlex Ent. after his contract expired last year. However, they all still maintain a strong bond relationship with their producer, Lee Jungyeop. It is known that Lee Jungyeop has a special affection for Infinite, as they were together during his youthful days.

According to the officials, Lee Jungyeop recently transferred the trademark rights of the group Infinite with no conditions, saying that he supports the group's activities. According to the trademark registration inquiry service, Woollim Ent. applied for the trademark rights in 2010 but as of April 21, 2023, all rights have been transferred to Infinite Company.

This is a rare case in the Korean music industry, as there has been intense conflict between the agency and the artists over trademark rights. In fact, in Highlight's case, the group debuted under the name 'Beast' under their former agency, Cube Entertainment. However, they had to change their name due to trademark disputes. Shinhwa also filed a lawsuit together to transfer the trademark rights and after three years they were able to regain the rights to their name and returned as Shinhwa in 2015.

On the other hand, Infinite's members who have settled to their new company, 'Infinite Company', are planning to hold a live broadcast on their official Youtube channel on June 9th, their debut anniversary.
