The fan support controversy that has been blowing up on Twitter all day

The most hilarious part here is that the two teams who made the most money this year are the only ones who didn't give any fan support today.

NewJeans - Hotpack, cookies, water, lunch box (sandwich), juice, blanket
TXT - Postcard, photocard, badge, keyring, cupcake, bread, coffee truck
(G)I-DLE - Photocard, café coupon
PLAVE - Lunchbox (Sandwich, Inari sushi), blanket, juice, face mask, serum, Twosome place gift card worth 30,000 KRW, hotpack
Taemin - Photocard
IVE - Photocard, hotpack (+ they also give a bottle of drink later on)
SKZ - 3 types of fruits sando, cookies, photocard, hotpack
Aespa -
NMIXX - Photocard, cup pudding
ATEEZ - Photocard, eye massager, room spray, hotpack
CRAVITY - Photocard, hotpack
STAYC (Unit) - Photocard, rice cake
DAY6 -
NCT Doyoung - Hotpack, fish cake soup, madeleine
Boynextdoor - Carp bread, coffee truck, photocard
ZB1 - ?? (It hasn't finished yet)

List of the fan support fans receive from idols on Daejejeon today was released + Sparking complaints from some fans who attended the pre-recording.

The debate started with retweets pointing out which idols didn’t give out fan supports, leading to endless QRTS

We're not asking for Prada or Rolex that Oppas wear. Even just hotpacks and a coffee truck would've prevented this whole mess. F*ck this... We spent money, time, energy, and spirits. While other fans were enjoying fish cake soup, sandwich, and bread in the freezing cold, we sat on the asphalt with nothing. We're being mocked as the fans who didn't receive any fan support.

Since the idols themselves don't care about how their fans wait or how they are treated. They don't even try to know or to improve the situation... That's why they don't bother with fan supports... It's frustrating to see people only criticizing the company. Well, it's true that the company should be criticized, but I want to say that the problem isn't just there.

I didn’t attend pre-recordings or public events expecting anything, but still, I made time and endured the cold to go, and they only said they were grateful that we came all this way to support them at the end of the year? I'm sure they areㅜㅜ But I feel so upset... If other artists are doing it, I would be really grateful if they did the same thing... It's not like this is just a regular pre-recording. It's the last schedule of the yearㅠ

Aespa's pre-recording for Gayo Daejejeon tomorrow was delayed for 3 hours. I thought they would at least send 700 kimbap rolls for fans... I was so mad.

And the Unnies said they had a gift for us after the pre-recording... I never expected it to be just them going out to the extended stage to greet the fans...

People who can't relate to this probably suit being treated like a servant.

Idols are entirely supported by unpaid fan labor and their wallets. Is there any other job like this? Because they treat fans who are expecting for a bit of fan support are being treated like beggars, they'll forever be at the bottom.

What’s wrong with normalizing fan support? Fans aren't asking for luxury goods or anything. Fans are spending a lot of money already, giving them a roll of kimbap or a hot pack in the freezing cold should be a given.

Do you think fans buy official merch, lighsticks, and albums just to get a single roll of kimbap? No, they do it out of love. Is it wrong to expect a little appreciation? The cost of fan support may not be cheap, but neither is what fans spend.

Fans are not asking for fan support because they're beggars. Most pre-recordings take place in the early morning, so there's nowhere to eat. And even if it's during the day, they keep fans waiting for 40 minutes. How the f*ck fans are supposed to eat under those circumstances? If they don't want to call fans because of fan support, then they should hire people to be in the audience and pay them 30,000 KRW per person.

Seriously, there’s no way to eat in these conditions.

The uproar started because the pre-recording for Gayo Daejejeon had long delays and harsh situations, causing some fans to snap. On top of that, there are bunch of fans across different fandoms joining in and arguing whether fan support is necessary. Twitter has been in this state of chaos for days. The debate still continues to today...

-Fans come to see you, waiting for hours in freezing weather. So do something for them. Especially when all the other fandoms receive something from their idols, of course they feel upset when they don't receive anything at all.

-It's not like fans are forcing it... But wouldn't it be weirder if fans don't feel upset when they're the only ones who don't receive fan support from their idols?? What kind of life does someone lead if they're truly not upset about this?

-It's totally understandable. I can absolutely understand why they feel disappointed.

-Being called beggars is the funniest part hereㅋㅋㅋㅋ Do you think fans ask for fan support because they don't have money? Fans spend money and time in this freezing weather to cheer for their idols. If I were the idol, I'd feel indebted to them. It’s frustrating how idols take their fans’ dedication for granted.

-I'm so freaking sick of this. t's understandable to be upset, and the idols are wrong for not giving out fan support. But if you're so upset that it consumes you for days, maybe it's time to quit the fandom.

-It's not the first time the K-pop industry has treated fans like cash cows. It's understandable to be upset. The problem is that, despite all this, fans keep enabling itㅋㅋㅋㅋ At least after this backlash, maybe they’ll feel some pressure.

-One of the teams being criticized for not giving fan support is my favorite... It just makes me realize that considering how successful they are, the company and the idols don't care much about their fansㅎ...

-Well, now that things have turned this way... They can just give fan support next time.

-Seriously, how many days has it been? Is this really something worth getting this much hate for?

-I don’t think fans are demanding gifts, but seeing other artists give fan support must feel disheartening. Even just handing out hot packs would’ve warmed their hearts in this cold weather.

-It's understandable to be upset?!!! They're people before fangirls.

-Ugh, this controversy dragging on until the last day of the year. This is the ultimate level of brainrot.

-I get why fans are upset, but maybe they should try putting less time, effort, and money into it to avoid feeling this way.

-I understand the perspective, but bringing up everything and dragging this out for days is just so f*cking weird of them.

-Just don’t go. Why spend money, energy, and emotions on something that upsets you?
