On the 31st, MBC announced that they would form a committee to determine the cause and truth behind Oh Yoanna's death. The committee will include external experts, such as legal professionals, as well as internal department heads responsible for handling this matter.
Oh Yoanna, who joined MBC in 2021, passed away in September last year, and the news of her death was reported three months later. It was later reported in the media that a 17-page suicide note was found on her phone, leading to growing suspicions of workplace harassment.
Oh Yoanna's family has filed a lawsuit against two fellow weathercasters, accusing them of workplace harassment and seeking damages, at the Seoul Central District Court on December 23rd of the previous year.
Additionally, an anonymous individual also filed complaints with the Mapo Police Station and the Ministry of Employment and Labor on the 28th, against MBC, department heads, and the two weathercasters.
