Is it wrong to think that people shouldn't have children if they can't afford it?

 

Hello, I’m 25 years old. I decided to write this after having different opinions with my friends in a conversation. 

I believe that "If I can't afford to let my child live like other kids their age, I shouldn't have kids." During my school years, my family’s financial situation wasn’t good, and it still isn’t. Because of that, I often felt deprived and developed a sense of inferiority.

When I was in the 8th grade, I looked at my elementary school graduation photos. Even though I knew it was just clothes, mine looked cheap and showed signs of poverty, unlike most of my friends' clothes. When I was in elementary school, I worked so hard to hide the fact that I came from a poor family from my friends and teachers, but looking back, I realize it was probably all visible through my appearance (clothes). I realized that it was all in vain.

When I went to college, I only received tuition fees twice and I never got any allowance. Some might think that being able to receive tuition support at all is lucky enough, and I know many people are paying off student loans. But there are also many of my friends who live comfortably in college thanks to solid support from their parents. Some of them still receive allowances from their parents.

But isn’t it wrong to have a child when you can't even pay for their tuition or give them allowances, forcing them to live a harder life compared to others just because of money? At this point, isn't it a criminal? 

If you choose to have a child, whether it was an impulsive decision or a planned pregnancy, shouldn’t you at least support them until they’re 25? And if you can’t do that, then you shouldn’t have children at all. Looking around, I notice that some people are still receiving financial support from their parents even when they’re over 30 years old.

I know some elders who think, "You’ve raised your child until 20, that’s enough; what more could they want after that?" But who asked to be born? If you wanted to have a child, shouldn't you take responsibility for them in this harsh world so that they don’t struggle financially?

You may have heard the saying, "It’s a relief if your children don’t ask you for money once they become adults; if they can support themselves, that’s happiness." I completely don’t understand this; why should children be grateful for that? Isn’t it the parents’ duty to support their children? If they can’t even support themselves, shouldn’t they avoid having children?

I’ve seen many families with three or more children who don't support their children and just let the kids fend for themselves. Shouldn’t they have come to their senses after having two kids? It’s really frustrating to see families like that.

This is just my perspective. I’m not talking about having the financial means to send a child abroad for studies or having billions in wealth.

I’m simply talking about being able to provide for a child’s basic needs: letting them buy what they want, wear what they want, and do what they want during their school years. To quantify it, I believe parents should at least cover college tuition and provide a minimum of 500,000 KRW (~$375 USD) per month until the child finds a job. In today’s world, 500,000 KRW per month is not much, but if a child in their early to mid-20s works part-time, they can at least live a normal life without struggling like their peers.

This was my opinion. Am I wrong? While talking with my friend, it seemed like our perspectives were completely different, and I’m still thinking about it, so I wanted to hear the opinions of others. I tend to hold onto my beliefs strongly, but if most people tell me that my opinion is wrong and selfish, I’ll try to reflect on it and change my thinking. Thank you for reading this long post.

1. Kazuha seems to have a strong desire to learn, so if she's taught well, her skills would probably improve a lotㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ But first, let's fire that vocal coach, HYBE.

2. Watching this, I'm wondering what that vocal trainer even does? I don't know if it's because she's under pressure from the higher-ups or something, but she's not giving (Kazuha) any proper feedback. It's not like she's a therapist or anything, she only focuses on mental care ... (Contd)

4. Kazuha had an objective view of her own skills, but the vocal trainer is just repeating what she said... I think Kazuha was asking to be taught how to sing with an accent.

6. Kazuha did pure arts before, therefore I'm sure she should have some level of metacognition. But after her successful debut, she's only been hearing praises from those around her, and this leaves her feeling confused. 

As we all know, Kazuha almost didn't have a trainee period and debuted right away. She quickly caught up in dancing due to her ballet experience, but she probably felt she was lacking in vocals. So she consulted the vocal trainer, but she just brushed it off, saying everything’s fine. Is this right? I felt like if Kazuha was taught properly, her skills would improve a lot, but it seems the company isn’t supporting her enough.

+ Once again, I didn’t write this to bash the vocal trainer. And I’m not a LE SSERAFIM fan either. I wrote this because I think the trainer is following the company’s guidelines.

 In LE SSERAFIM's documentary, the dance trainer gives very harsh feedback. If the member is not doing well, they would say it directly without beating around the bush, unlike the vocal trainer. 

++ Some people say the vocal trainer can’t give harsh feedback because it’s being recorded, but the dance trainer gives such harsh feedback it makes the members cry, while in the vocal trainer just say things like "it’s okay, you’re doing well."

-I don't understand why HYBE doesn't invest in vocal trainings when they have so much money. I know vocal training is the most expensive, but it's not like the company can't afford it.

-YG seems to have strict vocal trainings. If Kazuha had gone to a company that cared about vocal training, she would’ve found her vocal range and improved her skills… Kazuha’s voice tone is nice.

-An expert should point out the areas that need improvement. There's no way their skills will improve if their trainers give that kind of feedback. It’s frustrating.

-She has a good voice, so they should teach her better.

-When I watched the documentary, I felt it was strange how the trainers didn't really give a proper answer to her question...ㅠㅠ Even though I know it is a directed documentary.

-How can you know anything from watching that one-minute video? She’s probably still receiving training, and there have likely been many conversations in between. Are you trying to criticize someone based on that brief clip?

-Maybe the trainer didn’t want to point out Kazuha’s vocal weaknesses in front of the camera to protect her. Given that they’re already getting criticized for their live performances, they probably know her mental state is fragile. But this is just my opinion, so it might not be true.

-I feel like Kazuha could do really well because she has a very nice voice tone.

-Personally, I think Kazuha has a strong voice and good vocal technique, so with a lot of practice and refinement, she could improve.

'BTS Suga lying' allegations proven false as new CCTV footage was released ... Will the public's opinion shift?

BTS' Suga has been allegedly lying, but these allegations turned out not to be true.

According to the Dong-A Ilbo, CCTV footage captured Suga riding an electric scooter on a sidewalk on the evening of August 6th, around 11:10 PM. The newly released footage provides a clearer view of Suga's movements compared to the previously released CCTV footage.

Suga was riding the electric scooter on the sidewalk in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, near Nine One Hannam. He fell in front of the main gate of Nine One Hannam after losing his balance while trying to turn left. At that moment, three patrolling officers passing by noticed Suga and approached him. The officers tried to help Suga and noticed that he had been drinking, leading to a breathalyzer test. Suga's blood alcohol level at the time was 0.227%, which is high enough for a license to be revoked.

It was reported that some of the footage showing a person riding an electric scooter on the road, as released by certain media outlets, was not Suga. The analysis suggested that the direction was different from where Suga was headed towards Nine One Hannam. Additionally, reports that Suga had crashed into a curb were also proven false.

The media outlets that previously reported on this footage have since retracted the video. There were also reports that Suga had taken a breathalyzer test on the sidewalk, not in front of his home, leading to suspicions that he had lied. However, these claims were also found to be untrue.

BTS Suga was wrong for driving under the influence, but he never lied

However, the person in the CCTV footage released by JTBC and Yonhap News TV was not Suga.

On the 14th, Dong-A Ilbo reported that on the 6th of this month, around 9 PM, Suga had dinner with acquaintances at a restaurant near Hannam Intersection in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, where he drank alcohol. Afterward, he went to a nearby private studio, where he drank more. Around 11 PM, he rode an electric scooter from the studio to his home, Nine One Hannam, which is about 500 meters away.

TV Chosun also aired the CCTV footage obtained by the police, showing Suga riding an electric scooter on the sidewalk. As he was turning left into the main entrance of Nine One Hannam, he lost his balance and fell. The police, who approached Suga after seeing him pick up his helmet that had fallen off during the incident, conducted a breathalyzer test on the spot.

Following the release of this CCTV footage, Suga has been cleared of the accusations of lying. Misunderstandings regarding the type of scooter, the distance traveled, and the nature of the incident have been resolved.

The electric scooter Suga was riding was not similar to a motorcycle-like scooter but rather a kickboard-style electric scooter with a seat. This differs from the scooter shown by some broadcasters in their reports. Some believe that the confusion arose because it looked like a kickboard.

Additionally, previous reports that Suga rode 1.5 kilometers in the opposite direction of his home and crashed into a curb, were proven false by the newly released CCTV footage.

These details match what Suga and his agency stated in their apology.

However, it's been reported that Suga told the police he was experiencing knee pain and mentioned that he "only had one beer and drove for a short while." His blood alcohol concentration was 0.227%, well above the 0.08% threshold for license revocation, making the "one beer" claim questionable. Given the false reports that surfaced after Suga's drunk driving incident, it’s crucial to confirm whether he indeed made the "one beer" statement. While the fact that he drove under the influence remains unchanged, if he didn't make the statement (of drinking "only one beer"), it would mean he didn't lie.

Drunk driving and riding an electric scooter on the sidewalk are undeniably wrong actions. However, considering the current information, it might be time to stop criticizing Suga for allegedly lying.

Kim Seonho plays the role of 'Chief Choi,' the mastermind behind the secretive 'Tyrant Program,' showcasing a serious, elite agent character.

2. 'In the Net'

'In the Net' is a 6-episode OTT series about a woman who refuses to believe that her younger sibling committed suicide and begins to investigate the incident, leading her to encounter a mysterious man. Directed by Kim Jiwoon (I Saw the Devil, The Age of Shadows) and Park Boram (Through the Darkness), with Park Gyuyoung as the lead character along with Kim Seonho. The series is based on the novel by a Hong Kong mystery writer Chan Ho-kei. Filming wrapped up last November, but the release date is yet to be announced.

3. 'Can This Love Be Translated?'

Netflix's new series Can This Love Be Translated? is a romantic comedy about Joo Hojin (Kim Seonho), a multilingual interpreter who takes on the job of translating for global top star Cha Moohee (Go Younjung). The show is written by the Hong Sisters (Alchemy of Souls, Hotel Del Luna, The Greatest Love) and directed by Yoo Youngeun. Japanese actor Sota Fukushi, known for films like As the Gods Will, Bleach, and My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday, and I'm Taking the Day Off makes his Korean drama debut in this series. Filming began in June.

BTS Suga's Another Lie ... Intoxication Test Conducted on Sidewalk, Not in Front of His Home

 Suga’s lies have been exposed once again. On the 13th, Yonhap News TV revealed CCTV footage of Suga's drunk driving incident through an exclusive report titled “BTS’s Suga Drunk and Driving on Sidewalk… Accident Captured on CCTV.”

The CCTV footage shows Suga, on an electric scooter, riding on the sidewalk of a street in Hannam-dong, Yongsan District, Seoul, around 11:10 PM on the 6th. Suga then crashes into a curb and falls over, after which he is found by patrolling police officers and subjected to a breathalyzer test on the scene. His blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was 0.227%, indicating severe intoxication, which is far higher than the standard for revocation of license of 0.08%.

Previously, on the 7th, Suga had posted on the fan community platform Weverse, stating, “After drinking at a dinner party last night, I rode an electric kickboard home. I did not realize that electric kickboards cannot be used under intoxication and violated traffic laws. I fell over while stopping the kickboard in front of my house, and since there were police officers around, they conducted a breathalyzer test, which resulted in license revocation and a fine.”

However, according to CCTV footage released by JTBC on the same day, Suga was riding an electric scooter, not an electric kickboard, on the road in Hannam-dong. Suga, who attempted to downplay the incident by calling the electric scooter a kickboard, was embroiled in another controversy over his lies as the second CCTV showed him undergoing the intoxication test on the sidewalk, not in front of his home.

When discovered by the police, Suga reportedly stated that he “had a beer and drove briefly.”

If his BAC exceeds 0.2%, he will be subject to aggravated punishment. And if he was found guilty, he has the potential to be sentenced to imprisonment from 2 to 5 years or a fine of up to 20 million won.
