Kim Soohyun's alleged "I want to see you right now" message to Kim Saeron during his military service turns out to be fabricated

It has been revealed that parts of the text messages between Kim Soohyun and the late Kim Saeron, released by Youtube channel 'Garo Sero Research Institute,' were fabricated. It was confirmed that Kim Soohyun was actually in his unit at the time he was alleged to have contacted the late Kim Saeron on military leave.

According to Money Today's investigation on the 5th, Kim Saeron's family had publicly revealed text messages through 'Garo Sero Research Institute' in March, claiming they were sent by Kim Soohyun to the late Kim Saeron.

The messages showed Kim Sooohyun allegedly texting the late Kim Saeron around 13:48 on Monday, April 2, 2018, saying, "Everyone's so full of energy," and "Ah, I want to see Saeromero as soon as possible."

When Kim Saeron replied, "When shall we meet?" Kim Soohyun replied, "We planned to meet on Thursday (the 5th)) with XX (a friend's name)," "I want to see you right now." Kim Soohyun also allegedly added, "I'll go to the hospital later today, have dinner, and then come back from exercise around 9 PM."

That year, the late Kim Saeron was only 17 years old and sitting in the 11th grade of high school. Her family and 'Garo Sero Research Institute' CEO Kim Se-eui claimed that these messages proved that Kim Soohyun and the late Kim Saeron had dated for 6 years, from 2015 to 2021.

However, records show that Kim Soohyun was actively undergoing training at his military base at the time. Money Today obtained entries from Kim Soohyun's military diary from 2018, which clearly shows he was involved in an operation exercise from April 2 to 5:

April 2: Finished the 6th operation. It's so hot, I'm sweating a lot.

April 3: On guard duty. Tomorrow's finally the 7th operation.

April 5: Woke up this morning and it was raining. If it keeps raining, the operation today won't be canceled. In fact, it helps the titme pass faster.

A separate news report from April 4 also confirms that Kim Soohyun participated in a field training that day.

In his diary entry for April 6, he wrote, "Can't wait for my next leave." This confirms that he was in the base at least from April 2 to 6, in contrast to the argument that he scheduled a meeting with Kim Saeron on April 5.

Kim Soohyun's diary also frequently mentions his then-girlfriend, 'A.' In his diary entry for April 2, he wrote, "Every time I write in this diary, I feel stronger. I can't wait to see you and show this to you. There's only one operation left. I'll run to you soon. I'll make your heart flutter as soon as possible. I love you. Let's go see the cherry blossoms together. I hope they would fly everywhere."

In his diary entry for April 6, he wrote, "I want to write your name so badly, but I can't because I'm a 'Soldier of Interest.' I'll just say I love you. Later, I'll brag to people that you went through my whole military life with me." In contrast, there is not a single mention of the late Kim Saeron anywhere.

Kim Soohyun's legal representative, attorney Ko Sangrok, stated, "Even a small amount of data reveals the contradiction in the claims made by the late Kim Saerorn's family and 'Garo Sero Research Institute.' It appears that they mixed up the conversations Kim Saeron had with another man and presented them as Kim Soohyun's. If they had simply checked the military leave dates, they would've known that these messages weren't sent by Kim Soohyun."

He emphasized, "Even with the limited data we revealed is already enough to refute 'Garo Sero Research Institute' claims. We can disprove every claims they made."

-Huh? If it was all fabricated, why didn't he say so back then? Why only now...?

-Even if he had denied it, wouldn't no one have believed him anyway?

-It was fabricated????

-The letter isn't fabricated, is it??

-The dead can't speak... Just stop all this and retire already.

-Is he saying that Gaseyeon wrote the letter too?ㅋㅋㅋ

-Are the pictures of him washing the dishes and posing cheek-to-cheek with her fake too thene?

-I don't believe him. Why would I trust anything he says?

-I feel bad for Kim Soohyun.

-He was framed... Do you guys actually believe Gaseyeon? Oh Gosh...

-But wasn't it true that he dated a minor?

-He must feel incredibly wronged. Her actual boyfriend knew all about this but still not come forward??

-Kim Saeron took her own life on Kim Soohyun's birthday. The end.

-Why are people doing this on Chuseok...?

-Please stop tormenting Saeron... What's wrong with you all?

Park Jihyun reveals that she personally bought luxury goods with her money to play a wealthy woman in her 40s in 'You and Everything Else'

In the drama, she had to portray her character Sangyeon's life from her 20s to 40s. The 40-year-old Sangyeon was a successful woman, she needed to embody a luxurious lifestyle through her outfits. Since pre-produced dramas rarely receive brand sponsorships, luxury fashion brands declined to provide support. Park Jihyun revealed, "We couldn't get sponsorships, so I bought everything myself."

She explained, "I discussed a lot with the styling team. While the styling for the 20s and 30s was important, I thought the styling for the 40s was the most crucial one. I know many successful older women around me, so I took references from their fashion. I personally purchased various clothes, accessories, even the luggage, scarves, watches, and earrings."

She said she bought everything herself because the drama couldn't get sponsorships.

The Hermès products that appeared in the drama:

Hermès Birkin bag
Hermès Birkin bag

Hermès Kelly bag

Hermès cardigan

Hermès scarf + Thom Browne cardigan

Hermès Garden Party bag
Hermès earrings

Hermès knitwear

Bvlgari necklace
Thom Browne cardigan

Chrome Hearts top

Dior shorts

The most expensive item:

When asked about the most expensive item she bought for the role, she answered, "It was the watch. I don't wear it now. I just keep it well."

Patek Philippe Nautilus (Worth at least 100 M KRW)

Not only she did buy luxury goods, but she also confessed to fasting for 2-3 weeks, drinking only water and Americano to portray a cancer patient. She realized this was the right look because while her body became thin, her face remained swollen, making her look like a sick person.

She admitted that portraying a 40-year-old character was the most challenging. Not only because she had to portray her future self, but she also had to act as someone nearing death. Park Jihyun said, "Since I was playing a sick person, I observed people around me and fasted for 2 to 3 weeks. My body became thinner, but my face remained swollen. I became convinced, 'This is it.' Before filming, I would force myself to cry to make my face look more swollen."

-Does she really need that many luxury props...?

-Does she come from a wealthy family...? Celebrities must really earn a lot of money.

-I heard you can't just walk into Hermès and buy something whenever you want. She must've been a frequent customer. Whoa...

-Hermès is not something you can just buy on impulse, though...

-Whoa... Her dedication and the investment she made in her role are incredible. So is her wealth.

-Whoa... That is amazing. All that for her role.

-That's why Sangyeon's role stood out even more.

-Couldn't she have borrowed them instead...? Well anyway, they become her own.. So...ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-I've never even heard her name before.

-She really was Sangyeon herself... The best.

-If the drama hits big, it'll pay back several times over. In other words, it's like an investment.

-She's always been an amazing actress, but the way she portray a woman in her 40s was absolutely legendary. She'll definitely become a trusted actress now.

-I heard Hyeri also had to buy all her own luxury outfits because her drama was pre-produced.

-Maybe she's always been rich...?

-Everyone, please watch 'You and Everything Else'... Her acting is insane.

-She didn't say those were new, though.

Lee Minwoo's fiancée confesses to legal dispute with ex-husband ... Even seeking advice from a lawyer

SHINHWA's Lee Minwoo revealed that his fiancée has been in conflict with her ex-husband. As a result, the couple even sought advice from a lawyer to find a resolution.

At the end of the broadcast of KBS 'Mr. House Husband Season 2' on the 4th, Lee Minwoo and his fiancée Lee Ami were shown visiting a lawyer. During the meeting, Lee Minwoo opened up, saying "(Lee Ami) had some legal issues with her ex-husband. She hasn't received the money she's owed."

Hearing this, the lawyer asked, "Are you still in contact with your ex-husband?" to which Lee Ami replied, "No, he won't answer." When Lee Minwoo stated, "She lent him money," the lawyer sighed before carefully saying, "In case of getting divorced again..." Hearing this, Lee Ami was unable to hold back her tears and began to cry.

Lee Minwoo previously announced his marriage in July through a handwritten letter. His fiancée, Lee Ami, is a third-generation Korean-Japanese single mother who is currently pregnant. Regarding his decision, Lee Minwoo said, "When I was emotionally exhausted and struggling, I spent more time with my family, which made me reflect on the meaning of family. During that time, I reconnected with someone I had known for a long time. After realizing that we have mutual feelings, we decided to become one family."

Since then, Lee Minwoo has appeared on 'Mr. House Husband,' sharing glimpses of his wedding preparations and daily life with his fiancée.

theqoo

-Isn't this too much TMI? Why are they telling us all this?

-Do they really have to reveal things like this?

-Isn't this way too private? They must've discussed about this before deciding to reveal it on TV, right?

-The public doesn't even want to know thisㅠ

-Do viewers really need to know about that...?

-Sigh... If we have to see celebrities' private lives, we'd rather to see the good things, not the difficult and painful ones...

-Celebrities really do have it easy. They can even make money off their private problems by turning them into contents.

-I completely get him, though. He has to sell his private lives on variety shows to earn money.

-How much more are they planning to show us?

-I don't f*cking wanna know. Why would I want to know about my idol's wife's money issues with her ex-husband?

Mother of the late Oh Yoanna receives official apology from MBC ... Ends hunger strike after 27 days

The mother of the late Oh Yoanna, who passed away last year due to workplace bullying, has reached an agreement with MBC and ended her hunger strike after 27 days.

According to the agreement, MBC and the family will hold a public press conference at MBC Sangam HQ on the morning of the 15th. During the event, MBC is expected to officially issue a public apology to the late Oh Yoanna, promise measures and improvements to prevent the same case from happening again, and award the late Oh Yoanna an honorary employee certificate.

MBC will also establish a memorial space for the late Oh Yoanna within the HQ until 15 September 2026. Additionally, the existing weather caster position will be removed and replaced with a regular full-time employee called 'weather and climate expert.' Compensation for the late Oh Yoanna's family will be determined in a separate agreement.

The late Oh Yoanna passed away on 14 September 2024, but the news of her tragic death was only revealed 3 months later. The 17-page suicide note was found on her phone, containing details of her suffering from workplace harassment.

After the incident became public, the Ministry of Employment and Labor launched a special labor inspection into MBC. As a result, MBC terminated the contract of one perpetrator identified as 'A' and decided to renew contracts with the remaining three.

In addition to the government's inspection, MBC also formed an independent fact-finding committee led by an external chairperson. However, after the official inspection results were released, MBC announced that they would not publish their own committee's findings.

The mother of the late Oh Yoanna begin her hunger strike on 8 September, just before the first anniversary of her daughter's passing. She held a press conference in front of the new MBC building in Sangam-dong, Seoul, with 44 organizations including broadcast and media unions. In the press conference, she demanded a public apology and concrete measures to prevent similar tragedies.

During the strike, MBC announced that they would abolish the freelance weather caster in honor of the late Oh Yoanna's 1st death anniversary. However, the late Oh Yoanna's family and supporting groups argue that the new system will allow the company to fire weather casters of they fail the open recruitment exam.

The late Oh Yoanna's family stated, "The mother went on a hunger strike to demand MBC to give all current freelance weather casters secure, full-time employments to prevent another tragedy like her daughter's. However, the outcome seemed to put her daughter's colleagues' jobs at risk."

After 27 days of hunger strike, the mother of the late Oh Yoanna finally reached an agreement with MBC and ended her hunger strike.

"I don't want to serve in the military" ... 20,000 men gave up their citizenship to avoid enlistment

It has been revealed that nearly 20,000 men have given up their South Korean nationality over the past five years to evade mandatory military service.

According to data analyzed by Democratic Party lawmaker Hwanghee from information provided by the Military Manpower Administration, a total of 18,434 men aged 18 to 40 renounced their South Korean citizenship between 2021 and the end of August this year.

Considering that about 200,000 men enlist each year, this means that nearly 1 in every 10 eligible men were excluded from enlistment due to giving up citizenship.

The most common reason was the acquisition of another nationality after studying or living abroad for a long term, accounting for 12,153 (65.9%) cases. While 6,281 (34.1%) held dual citizenship from birth and gave up their South Korean citizenship after becoming adults.

The most common new nationality among those who abandoned South Korean citizenship was American, with 7,510 people (61.8%) choosing the United States. This was followed by Canada chosen by 1,853 (15.3%) people, Japan chosen by 1,096 (9%) people, Australia chosen by 649 (5.3%) people, and New Zealand chosen by 413 (3.4%) people.

Meanwhile, during the same period, only 2,813 individuals voluntarily applied for enlistment despite living abroad or holding foreign residency status. By nationality, the largest groups came from the U.S. (511 people), China (476 people), Vietnam (260 people), Japan (220 people), Canada (155) people, and Indonesia (154 people).

Lawmaker Hwanghee stressed, "It's urgent to establish strict standards for citizenship renunciation, which can be exploited as a loophole to evade military service." He added, "We should focus on measures to encourage those who hold dual citizenship to fulfill their military duties and improve post-service support so that the military service becomes a stepping stone for their career advancement."

theqoo

-I hope they're banned from coming back to South Korea when they get older.

-Cut off their d*cks.

-They shouldn't be allowed to regain their citizenship or even enter South Korea again, just like Steve Yoo.

-My husband was seriously injured in the military and received a disability rating. I understand people not wanting to enlist, but they shouldn't be allowed to regain their citizenship. I believe we all should live with the consequences of our choices.

-Giving up citizenship is their own choice and freedom, but I personally think they shouldn't be able to regain their citizenship when they get older.

-If they haven't fulfilled their duties, don't give them their rights.

-1 out of 10?? That's a lot more than I thought.

-Honestly, I'd do the sameㅋㅋ If I had the choice, I'd choose another country too.

-Don't you have to enlist first before you can give up your citizenship? I mean... People with dual citizenship still have to enlist, don't they?

-There's such thing as regaining citizenship?? If they just ban that, then it shouldn't matter if they give up their citizenship or not.

-I finished my military duties, but honestly, if I could avoid it, I would've. Why go through that if you don't have to? Why are people reacting this way?

-If it's not illegal, I probably wouldn't go either. Just ban them from regaining their citizenship until they're over 65. That'll solve it.

-Honestly, I wouldn't go eitherㅋㅋ At this point, in about 10 years, they'll probably start forcing women to serve because there won't be enough men left.

Presidential Office: "Requested to postpone airing of 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator' on the 5th ... Filmed on the 28th, followed by an emergency response meeting in the afternoon"

On the 4th, the Presidential Office requested JTBC to postpone airing the Chuseok special episode of 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator' featuring President Lee Jaemyung and the First Lady which was scheduled to air on the 5th.

According to the Presidential Office, the President and First Lady appeared on the show to promote K-food made with seasonal ingredients. However, considering that all ministries are mourning following the death of a public official, the Presidential Office requested the postponement.

Regarding controversy over the filming schedule, presidential spokesperson Kim Namjoon stated in a written briefing, "President Lee held an emergency response meeting at 10.50 AM on the 28th, where he was briefed on the situation and discussed countermeasures with the heads of the three main offices, the Crisis Management Center, and the National Affairs Office. Later that day, he filmed 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator' and presided over a Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters meeting at 5.30 PM."

The Presidential Office also stated that immediately after returning from his U.S. visit on the night of the 26th, the President received frequent reports about the ongoing situation, closely monitored the damage and the government's reports, and ordered necessary measures. As a result, a Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters meeting presided over by the Prime Minister was held on the 27th.

theqoo

-They shouldn't have proceed with the filming at that time.

-I don't see what the problem is here.

-That's a shame. I wanted to watch it during the holidayㅠㅠㅠ

-He held an emergency meeting first, then went to filming, then held another meeting afterward. He literally had meetings before and after the recording.

-I mean... Is filming a variety show not considered work? Why is filming a variety show considered 'playing'? Does that mean all variety show filming is 'playing'? Are all entertainers and production staff 'just playing' then??

-Does the President even sleep...? His schedule sounds really packedㅠㅠㅠㅠ

-He went there to promote APEC, that's also work. What's wrong with you, people?

-If he had canceled filming last minute, people would've called it abuse of powerㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-Ugh... The #2 voters are making him go through hell again...

-These #2 voters seriously need to chill.

-He's working so hard.

-Stay strong, Mr. President.

-Why is he filming a variety show in the first place? Our country is not peaceful enough for him to make an appearance on shows like that.

-Who doesn't know how hard President Lee Jaemyung works? Everyone except the #2 voters would acknowledge itㅋㅋ

-What is this fuss about? It's not like he went on the show to play around... He was there to promote agriculture and marine products.

'Bon Appétit, Your Majesty' star Kim Hyungmook, who plays the role of Chinese Emperor's envoy Yu Kun, reveals his Chinese practice notebook

'Bon Appétit, Your Majesty.' The role of the Chinese Emperor's envoy Yu Kun. These are parts of my Chinese study notes and audio recordings. A record of a total of 40 days given to me, excluding time for performances, films, and filming schedule. Due to scheduling issues, I began memorizing Chinese lines two weeks before the filming of the drama. I know it's far from perfect, but please see it kindly🙏 I'll cherish these as a memory. I'll greet you all again in a new project soon!

-Whoa, that's insane... I hope he was paid well for this. They could've just used dubbing, thoughㅜ With that level of study, he could probably pass a Chinese proficiency test.

-That is impressive. His passion is amazing.

-That's amazing... He looks like he'll succeed at anything he does.

-I have this thing where I tear up when I see stuff like thisㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅠㅠ His passion is insane.

-Whoa........... That is seriously so cool. Wow.........👍👍👍

-As someone who lived in China for a few years, I can say that learning that much in such a short time is not easy at all. For anyone trying to learn Chinese, spending the first month in China to get the feel of it really helps.

-I don't speak Chinese, so I naturally thought his voice was dubbedㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-That's so cool. Not to mention that his lines were long too. That's amazing.

-Whoa... That's incredible. I seriously thought he was Chinese.

-Huh????? That wasn't dubbed????? Whoa.. I had no idea. I totally thought it was dubbed;;;

-I've seen him in other works. He always gives his all in every role he taeks.

-Because of that effort, he shines as an actor!

-I thought he was someone who spoke Chinese well. That's impressive.

-Even putting the pronunciation aside, just memorizing that many lines is something I already consider amazing.

-Whoa... To put in so much effort for the drama and his character... He's so cool and amazing.
