 In May of last year, a video of Sandara Park and Gong Minzy going on a trip to the Philippines together was posted on Sandara Park's YouTube channel 'DARA TV'.

In the video, Sandara Park shared a story about dating a 14-year-old boy before her debut. She explained, “A guy came up to me and asked for my number. He was so cute, so I gave him my number. But then he told me he was 14 years old.” She continued, "At the time, I was 19 and just about to debut. I lied and said I was 16, and we went on a few dates.” They enjoyed dates such as playing games and watching movies together, but as Sandara Park debuted in 2NE1 and her real age was revealed on broadcast, the relationship ended.

Sandara Park's remarks sparked controversy, particularly among international netizens from cultural backgrounds sensitive to issues related to minors. Netizens criticized, “It’s strange for a 19-year-old to be attracted to a 14-year-old, “How could she lie about her age and date a minor?”

The production team, aware of these reactions, deleted the video and also announced plans for legal action. They stated, “We have re-edited parts of the video that could potentially be misunderstood depending on cultural perspectives.” They also requested, “Please refrain from baseless speculation, unfounded rumors, and malicious comments directed at the artist. Any actions that defame her character will be met with firm legal action.”
