But then he told me he was 14 years old.” She continued, "At the time, I was 19 and just about to debut. I lied and said I was 16, and we went on a few dates.” They enjoyed dates such as playing games and watching movies together, but as Sandara Park debuted in 2NE1 and her real age was revealed on broadcast, the relationship ended.

Sandara Park's remarks sparked controversy, particularly among international netizens from cultural backgrounds sensitive to issues related to minors. Netizens criticized, “It’s strange for a 19-year-old to be attracted to a 14-year-old, “How could she lie about her age and date a minor?”

The production team, aware of these reactions, deleted the video and also announced plans for legal action. They stated, “We have re-edited parts of the video that could potentially be misunderstood depending on cultural perspectives.” They also requested, “Please refrain from baseless speculation, unfounded rumors, and malicious comments directed at the artist.
