TripleS agency, MODHAUS, faces backlash for requiring pre-assignment and 3 interview rounds for a 3-month contract position

 

MODHAUS (TripleS, ARTMS)' pre-assignment for their contract hiring is so interesting that I want to assign it to my mutuals try it like a K-pop quizㅋㅋ Who's in?

I understand that they want to hire qualified talent, but requiring such a long pre-assignment and 3 interviews for just a 3-month contract is a little bit too much. Is this normal? 

Pre-assignment (To be submitted with your resume or include it in the application document)

1. Review one album and MV from an idol group that debuted in the past year.
Describe the characteristics of the group or elements that left a strong impressions (100 characters minimum)

2. Introduce an idol song from the past 6 months that left a strong impression on you.
Analyze why the song received attention, changes in the team, and market response (100 characters minimum)

3. What direction do you think the overall flow of K-pop is heading toward now?
If you have any personal insights on specific areas such as genre, performance, or marketing, please provide them.

4. Write about a recent domestic or international music industry issue that caught your attention (Negative issues are also welcome).
As an artist researcher, explain why that issue is important.

5. Introduce any group that you believe is underrated.
Describe why they haven't received attention, why you noticed them, and what they could improve.

6. What are your thoughts on fandom-driven platforms like COSMO, Universe, fan-voting apps, etc?
Include your opinions on the pros and cons of MODHAUS' app, COSMO, and how you would improve and utilize it as a researcher.

7. If there's any MVs you recently couldn't finish watching, mention and explain why.
As a consumer and researcher, analyze what disrupted your engagement?

8. Are there any expressions, concepts, or formats that are currently being overused in the K-pop scene?
What feels repetitive?

9. If you have ever witnessed a group you like going through a downfall, why do you think that happened?
Analyze the factors of failure and describe what early signals you could've discovered as a researcher. Also, describe what you learned and how you adjusted your judgment criteria at that time.

10. If you were to work as an Artist Researcher, explain how you would contribute to the team based on your perspective and strengths.
Write down your unique observation criteria, analysis methods, or philosophy.

They required pre-assignment and 3 rounds of interviews just for a 3-month contract position

Note:

-After the 3-month contract, an extension of an additional 3 months may be discussed and a discussion for conversion to a regular position may be held depending on the company's circumstances and performance.
-Work conditions: To be discussed separately during the interview

Selection process:

Document screening > 1st interview > 2nd interview > 3rd interview > Final selection
Interview schedule will be announced later

-Even when went for interviews at SM Ent. and YG Ent., they didn't ask questions like this. This is way over the topㅋㅋㅋㅋ They must be trying to collect research data for free without lifting a finger.

-Are they kidding?

-As an idol fan, I personally find these questions more interesting and I'd be more confidence answering them, compared to the typical self-introduction onesㅋㅋㅋ

-It seems like they're making applicants do the work that the actual employees should be doing. They're basically stealing the applicants' ideas.

-Even large companies don't go that far.

-They're not even paying the applicants interview expenses, yet they're getting research data for free. What a sweet deal.

-Pre-assignment is wild. They don't even bother to hide the fact that they're stealing ideas for free.

-What kind of position is that for...? It's not even for a full-time position, just a 3-month contractㅋㅋㅋ

-It's not like they're a large company hiring a 1-year contract. They're just a small-to-medium company hiring for a 3-month contract, yet they're being so demanding.

-As expected from MODHAUS,
