BTS' international fans are madly angry at New Jeans for thanking CEO Min Heejin in their acceptance speech yesterday

The initial tweet has reached over 5.6 M views

Why would you write a petition..... It's not like you're Korean. You're not even related to New Jeans and Min Heejin's situation... What on earth does a BTS' fan have to do with this anyway?

Min Heejin mentioned that while boy groups generally generate more revenue, NewJeans, as a girl group, achieved results that are comparable to those of boy groups typically achieve within 5-7 years. This is a fact. However, many international ARMYs misinterpreted or mistranslated this, thinking it was a jab at BTS. These posts also seem to misinterpret Min Heejin's statement.

When Min Heejin said "I am human too," many international fans interpreted it as implying that groups like BTS, LE SSERAFIM, and ILLIT are not human. They spread the false claim that Min Heejin refused to apologize by saying "I am human too." This statement is being heavily criticized.

People are calling NewJeans demons, disgusting, and saying they should be boycotted.

Objectively, the number of BTS's international fans is far larger than Bunnies (NB: NewJeans' fanbase), and there are naturally more translators. Therefore, translations are quickly made and spread, but many are inaccurate.

Min Heejin's remarks in her first press conference were also distorted and spread within the fandom, and by the time accurate translations were available, it was too late.

(There have been many instances of BTS-related materials being mistranslated in a way that caused the members to be criticized. So it's no surprise this time. Many believe all these controversies, including the Sajaegi allegations, were started by Min Heejin. In reality, the Sajaegi allegations was brought to light years later because Korean fans were arguing with each other. It has nothing to do with Min Heejin.)

Min Heejin didn't even mention the Sajaegi allegations in yesterday's press conference. She talked about being offered to do a deceptive marketing strategy to promote her group.

Now, based on the comments from yesterday's Music Bank, it seems like they think it's time to boycott NewJeans.

As a fan of another country's culture, if they have different opinions from the local public opinion, they should be cautious and consider "Is there something I misunderstand?"

Instead, some international fans are using snippets of mistranslated (and poorly translated) remarks from the press conference and tell Koreans, who watched the full press conference, to "see the truth."

The issue is that these international fans I'm talking about are not just "a small group" (there's a lot of them); this whole chaos is caused because no one is properly moderating the community.

-They pretend to know everything when they don't even speak Korean...

-Sometimes international K-pop fans are more problematic than domestic fans. It's a bit scary.

-I don't know if it's because they're international fans or if it's just the fandom's attitude, but I don't understand why they equate BTS with HYBE and support HYBE so much... I'm not a fan, so I may not know much, but objectively, I don't think HYBE is the best company for BTS.

-That's a disease.

-It seems like HYBE's witch hunt is successful.

-I know there are many international fans who aren't in their right minds, but aren't there sane ones too among them? Shouldn't the sane fans correct them? If they just let it go, the fandom's image will be ruined

-If the fans behave like this, the artist will be seen in a bad light too.

-ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ They're trying so hard. Do they think New Jeans will flop because of this? Seriously, take care of your own business. Spend time with your family or read a book instead of leaving hate comments on social media! Pathetic, really pathetic.

-Whatever. Fighting, New Jeans.

-Please just go die.

-If you don't know anything, just stay quietㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-This is why HYBE does the media play, so these ignorant international fans would cause trouble.

-They make so much noise without even knowing the facts.

-There are really a lot of lunatics out there...
