Chungha Confesses Trauma as The First Celebrity who Tested Positive for COVID-19 ... "Felt Like a Criminal"

 

Singer Chungha opened up about her feelings regarding being the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in the entertainment industry.

On this day, Chungha mentioned that in 2020, news of her being the first celebrity to test positive for COVID-19 came out.

Chungha recalled, "At that time, it was a period when everyone was very afraid of COVID-19" and said, "I felt like a criminal."

She continued, "Because of that memory, I don't often go to crowded places. To me, it's a trauma that doesn't seem like a trauma."

-The beginning of the pandemic was indeed really terrifying. It wasn't the fear of being infected that was scary, but the fear of being socially crucified if caught tested positive for COVID-19. I really don't want to experience such a horrible situation againㅠㅠ

-It was understandable, especially since there was no vaccine in the beginning of the pandemic. One of my acquaintances tested positive in the beginning of the pandemic and was hospitalized for 50 days. At that time, there was nothing we can ddo.

-Even non-celebrities got cursed at when they got infected, I can't imagine how tougher it must've been for celebritiesㅠㅠㅠ

-In the beginning of the pandemic, your every move would be disclosed even if there were only one or two people reported positive in your region. At that time, I worked at a sports club and I had to report my movements after work every day. Looking back now, it seems absurd, but back then, I guess there was nothing else that we can do...

-Chungha stirred controversy for testing positive after attending a birthday party. The entire region was put under lockdown after that. I can't imagine how she must've felt. It felt like living under martial law with curfews. 

-It was indeed really terrifying at the beginning of the pandemic...

-I remember how crazy it was in the beginning... All of your whereabouts got exposed...

-Back then, your whereabouts would be exposed if you tested positive. It was to the point where people were treated like criminals for getting infected. Of course, everyone around the world was really sensitive about it. 

-At that time, vaccines weren't developed yet. There were deaths, schools had to be closed, and healthcare workers were struggling. It might sound like an overreaction now, but considering the circumstances back then, it was understandable. 

-I was more scared of transmitting the virus to someone else than being sick myself. 

-It was really terrifying, my friend's mother had to be hospitalized for a really long time.

Seems like Chungha is really amazing..

Honestly, out of the other IOI's members I thought she would be the most buried one.. But not because she's not talented or skilled..

For the rest of the girls, they either have a really big company behind them, or big fandoms, or any other strengths. While for Sohye, I wasn't really worried for her since she doesn't have any thoughts to continue her career as an idol. 

Chungha is alone.. She's not from a big company, she doesn't have any labelmates in IOI, and she didn't really have a big fandom either..

But look at her now, she's the most successful singer out of the other girls nowㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ;;

Of course, the other girls are currently doing well as well.. But judging from the achievement, the only word I can say about Chungha is how amazing she is..

Honestly, there are almost no female solo performer who has succeeded in the industry. Maybe some, and that's because they were already in an idol group and have a big fandom before they debuted as solo singer..

But Chungha comes from a small company, and yet her debut song made it to the charts. On top of that, her song that she released back in January is still doing well in the charts up until this secondㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Being talented and skilled doesn't guarantee a successful career.

But it plays a big role on helping her name getting known out there in the public.

Her company might be small, but they really cherish her and take care of her. They always pick out good songs for Chungha, her songs never sound old-fashioned or tacky. Her stage outfits are always beautiful as well. The most importantly, her company knows what kind of concept suits Chungha the best. Honestly speaking, the company could've just hold back their greed and debut her in a group instead of as a solo singer.. But I personally think they made a great decision by debuting Chungha as a solo singer

I was worried about her the most, since her company is considered small and also still new in the industry, but I have to admit that her company does a really great job. I'm not a big fan of hers so I don't really know whether if they plan her schedule or take care of her fandom well or not, but what I know is that they know what kind of concept suits her the best. They don't seem to mind to spend a lot of money on her albums. Of course, I do know that Chungha is very talented.. But we all know that surviving alive in the entertainment industry only with talent is not an easy thing to do, that proves us that her company plays a big role behind her success. First of all, I would like to praise them for not putting Chungha in a group with other uncertain girls.

Seriously, though.. I thought Dodaeng's group or Pledis' group would be the most successful ones but as we know, Chungha is doing really well out there.

I think one of the other reasons why she succeeded is because her company doesn't take any risks by putting her in a group. Her company has a really great producing and marketing team. Honestly, I think girls like Sejeong would've become more successful if they had debuted as a solo singer.

At first, I didn't really think that Chungha is beautiful.. But then I unintentionally saw a gif of her performance and since then, she looks so gorgeous in my eyes. It's my first time feeling such thing because of a female idol. Her beauty is just.. endless, the type of face that can only look grogeous.
