IOI's Jeon Somi and Wanna One's Lee Daehwi engaged in a playful rivalry ahead of their comebacks.

On the 23rd, MBC released a preview for 'Radio Star's next episode. In the clip, Jeon Somi and Lee Daehwi showed a bit of competitive tension ahead of their long-awaited reunion comebacks.

Jeon Somi said, "We reunited for our 10th-anniversary album. We're just waiting for it to be 'unsealed'," sharing her thoughts on IOI's reunion after nine years.

She even drew attention by attempting to sing the unreleased title track.

Not to be outdone, Lee Daehwi showed off his presence by singing Wanna One's 'Pick Me.'

He added, "Wanna One has also reunited," and added, "We are making our comeback while riding on Park Jihoon's back. I love Jihoon Hyung so much," expressing his pride in Park Jihoon, who is receiving a lot of love for his role as King Danjong in 'The King's Warden.'

Jeon Somi responded, "We really reunited after such a long time. But suddenly, (Wanna One) started their activities before us," and asked Lee Daehwi, "Did you guys knock first?"

Lee Daehwi replied, "We definitely knocked first." Slightly unimpressed, Jeon Somi reacted, "Oh really?" causing the set to laugh.

Meanwhile, IOI and Wanna One have delighted fans by announcing their reunions around the same time.

Celebrating their 10th debut anniversary, IOI is scheduled to release their third mini-album, 'IOI: Loop' on May 19. They will also reunite with global fans by holding the '2026 IOI Concert Tour: LOOP.'

Wanna One, officially reuniting for the first time in seven years since concluding their activities in 2019, is also drawing attention ahead of the launch of their new reality show, 'Wanna One Go: Back to Base,' which will be released on the 28th.

Singer Choi Yoojung raised fans' anticipations as she shared her emotions during practice ahead of IOI's full-group comeback, showing the strong bonds among members.

A video titled 'Yoojung-ah, is IOI's comeback preparation going well?' was uploaded on influencer Sung Hae-eun' Youtube channel.

In the video, Choi Yoojung shared that she had just finished a busy schedule and mentioned that she is fully committed to comeback activities ahead of their concert scheduled for this coming May.

When asked about the vibe of the new song, she explained, "Rather than a powerful concept, it's a song that fits who we are after 10 years have passed. It's a song that can be enjoyed comfortably and pleasantly," playfully giving hints about the song.

Sung Hae-eun, who claimed herself as a devoted fan of IOI, couldn't hide her excitement and was deeply moved by the comeback news.

In response, Choi Yoojung said, "I can't believe I get to stand in front of the public again with the group I was in during high school," and added, "I keep getting emotional throughout the entire preparation process." In particular, she shared that she burst into tears during practice. She playfully reenacted a moment where Kim Sejeong comforted her by saying that Kim Doyeon had also cried the day before, showing off the members' unchanging friendship.

When Sung Hae-eun asked if the three-day concert schedule might be physically exhausting, Choi Yoojung calmly replied, "Since this is a moment I have long wished for, I think time will pass quickly."

She added, "I am recording our daily life in the practice room through photos and videos so I can cherish this precious time for a long time." '10th anniversary' IOI confirms May comeback ... Full group return after 9 years

Girl group IOI is making a comeback to the music scene to celebrate their 10th debut anniversary.

On the 23rd, Swing Entertainment announced, "IOI (Im Nayoung, Chungha, Kim Sejeong, Jung Chaeyeon, Kim Sohye, Yoo Yeonjung, Choi Yoojung, Kim Doyeon, Jeon Somi) has confirmed a comeback this May. They are currently preparing a new album." Swing Entertainment will be exclusively managing IOI and their comeback activities for this 10th anniversary project.

This marks their first activity in about nine years since 2017. It's a reunion to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut, making it especially meaningful for fans. The members have consistently shown their desire to reunite in various interviews and public events. After long discussions, they have finally come together again. However, Kang Mina and Zhou Jieqiong will not be able to participate due to prior schedules. Therefore, IOI will return as a 9-member group.

As the members have built successful careers as solo artists, actresses, and entertainers in their own fields, expectations are high for the new music and upgraded performances they will show as a team after 10 years. There's also growing interest in what kind of synergy their individual experiences and personalities will bring to the group.

IOI is a project group formed through national voting on Mnet's 'Produce 101' in 2016 and officially made their debut in May of that year. Starting with their debut song 'Dream Girls,' they released many hits including 'Whatta Man,' 'Very Very Very,' and 'Downpour.' They swept first places on music shows and topping major music charts, quickly establishing themselves as one of the leading girl groups in the music industry.

Based on these achievements, IOI won 'Rookie of the Year' awards at major ceremonies like Mnet Asian Music Awards, Golden Disc Awards, and Seoul Music Awards. Besides music, they were also active on various TV shows, solidifying their title as the 'Nation's Girl Group,' before officially finishing their activities with a concert in January 2017.

Along with the new album, IOI plans to meet global fans directly by starting a concert in Seoul followed by an Asia tour. They are promising a large-scale performance to satisfy the long-awaited anticipation of fans who have waited nine years.
