BLACKPINK's Jisoo has suddenly canceled her scheduled media coverage for her departure to Paris on the 22nd. It is now being interpreted as a result of the ongoing controversy involving her older brother, who has been booked on charges of sexual assault and is also facing accusations of domestic violence.
A representative stated on the 21st, "Due to unavoidable internal circumstances, the press schedule regarding Jisoo's airport departure scheduled for the 22nd has been canceled." Jisoo was originally planned to depart for Paris, France, via Incheon Airport on the 22nd and showcase her airport fashion to the press.
The cancellation drew attention as it follows immediately after her agency, BLISSOO, released an official statement the previous day, the 20th, regarding the controversy surrounding her older brother. Through their legal representative from Kim & Chang, they stated, "The current issues are completely unrelated to the artist and BLISSOO," and added, "Jisoo became independent early as she started her trainee life at a young age and has lived apart from her family for a long time, making it impossible for her to be aware of or involved in that individual's private life."
Furthermore, they also emphasized that while she did receive some limited advice from family members during the early stages of establishing BLISSOO, "no family member has ever received a salary or participated in the decision-making.
Additionally, they firmly stated there is no current or future plans to provide financial or legal support to the individual in question. Regarding the spread of false information and defamation, they stated, "We will take all possible civil and criminal legal action."
