Police have received a formal complaint accusing a famous variety show PD of sexual assault and have begun an initial investigation.
According to the person who filed the complaint and police sources on November 3, the Seoul Mapo Police Station received this complaint against PD A in August.
The complaint alleges that in the early morning of August 15, PD A made unwanted physical contact with B, who was involved in the production of a new variety show.
B's lawyer, stated, "5 days after the incident, the victim was told by the harasser that she was removed from the show. The first argument between the two happened during the location scouting for the final episode of the show. PD A used that argument as an excuse for her dismissal."
In response, PD A's lawyer argued, "The claim that A made physical contact in a sexually suggestive or inappropriate way is completely false. The only physical contact that happened was at the end of the staff dinner, where A merely patted B on the shoulder and briefly putting an arm around her shoulder. This happened in a public area with many colleagues present."
He added, "This issue is not about gender. It is a battle between truth and lies. Falsely reporting an innocent person is a crime that can destroy a person's life and family."
