Summary of charges against Sojang, filed by 8 victims

  • The Criminal Division 1 of the Incheon District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Lee Gon-ho) has indicted a YouTuber known as a "Cyber-wrecker" on charges of violating the Information and Communications Network Act (defamation) on May 13th (Friday). This YouTuber created malicious slander videos targeting celebrities and influencers, posted them on their YouTube channel, and earned tens of millions in revenue from paid members and others.
Cyber-wrecker: A YouTube channel that quickly generates revenue by posting edited content to drive controversy when an issue arises in cyberspace.

  • In an individual defamation case referred to the prosecution, it was discovered that the defendant had been professionally engaged in "Cyber-wrecker" activities. The prosecution conducted an active supplementary investigation, including tracking the YouTube channel's revenue accounts, searching the defendant's residence, and performing forensic analysis on the laptop used for video editing.
- As a result, numerous additional victims were identified, and it was found that the defendant had indiscriminately posted false or distorted videos, earning 250 M KRW (~$183,000 USD; ~Rp2,981,000,000 IDR) in revenue. This case was clearly identified as a "profit-driven crime through the dissemination of fake news" and was strictly prosecuted.
The prosecution will continue to respond firmly to "Cyber-wrecker" crimes, which profit by victimizing individuals with fake news, and will ensure that the defendant receives a punishment corresponding to their crimes.

-Here, you can see that Starship and SM filed lawsuits against her. I didn't know SM also filed one against her, wow.

-I hope she goes to jail.

-You can tell who some of the victims are. I hope Sojang faces proper consequences for her actions.

-Oh... SM Ent. also sued her.

-I hope she gets a prison sentence.

-Looks like SM Ent. sued her quietly.

-Sojang is impressive, not in a good way. Did she really think she wouldn't face consequences for her actions?

-Wow... SM Ent. sued her. I hope she gets a proper punishment.

-Starship did a great job...!

-Please give her a prison sentence.

-Half of these victims seem to be from SM Ent. They weren't joking when they said they're going to take legal actions. I wonder why they did it quietly, though?

-Are those victims all different people...? Wow...

-Did she really think she wouldn't get caught?

-SM Ent. also sued her. SM Ent. should announce it when they sue someone so that crazy people will shut their mouths.

-It's really great that SM Ent. is filing lawsuits, but can they announce it publicly that they did it?

-You can immediately tell who some of the victims are.

-Victim I is from SM Ent.

-Why would an idol not return a stylist's shoes?? I mean... They probably have better shoes??
