Red Velvet's Wendy revealed how she ended up performing a congratulatory song at a fan's wedding.
On the 25th, singers Kim Jongseo, Kang Kyunsung, Lim Junghee, Wendy, and Kim Jaehwan appeared as guests on JTBC's 'Knowing Bros.'
In this episode, Wendy revealed that she made a surpriseappearance and performed a congratulatorysong at the weddingofa fan who had supported her since her debut.
Wendy said, "The bride gave me a weddinginvitation during a fansigningevent, but there was no contact information written on it. I needed a way to contact her to actually go."
She continued, "My company and I searched through social media accounts and contact lists. We finally found the groom's contact information. I reached out and asked, 'Would it be alright if I performed a congratulatory song?'"
Wendy added, "I went to the wedding venue and performed a surprise song. The bride's eyes welled up, but she held her tears back. I almost cried too, but I managed to hold back."
The fan in question is known to have supported Wendy since RedVelvet'sdebutin2014.
In the video of the performance, Wendy mentioned, "She is a fan I first met when I debuted on August 1, 2014. I still remember clearly she was a high school senior at the time and she would come to many of my schedules with candy and vitamins."

On the 8th, photos and videos began spreading across X and online communities saying that Wendy made a surprise appearance at a long-time fan's wedding to sing a congratulatory song.
The moment was even more touching as it was revealed that Wendy had arranged it secretly by contacting the groom in advance while keeping it a surprise from the bride, who is her fan.
Wendy recalled her first meeting with the fan, saying, "I debuted in August 14, and that's when I first saw her. It's been almost 12 years already. At the time, she was in the 12th grade. She would come to support me at events while bringing gifts like lozenges or Lemona."
She continued, "She would come to me and say things like, 'Unnie, I have to take the CSAT so I might not be able to come,' 'Unnie, I got a job,' and 'I got a boyfriend.' One day, she asked me, 'If I get married in the future, could you sing at my wedding?' and I remember replying, 'Of course I'd sing for you.' When my album came out last September, she told me she was getting married and asked if that promise was still valid. I said, 'Of course, I can sing for you,' (and now I came to keep that promise.)"
On that day, Wendy sang 'Chapter You,' a track from her 3rd solo album released last September, as the congratulatory song.
A friend of the bride who attended the wedding shared their emotion, saying, "(The bride) had no idea Wendy Unnie was coming and even chose 'Chapter You' as her exit song. Then Wendy Unnie appeared and sang it live... Ah, I'm tearing up again just thinking about it."
Another person added, "It's true that the bride gave her the wedding invitation at a fan signing, but she never even thought about contacting the agency. She was just happy to share the news of her marriage. The real tear-jerker is the fact that Wendy Unnie saw the invitation and contacted the groom herself to make the performance happen."
Meanwhile, Wendy held the encore concert of her first world tour 'W:EALIVE' at Ticketlink Live Arena in Olympic Park, Songpa-gu, Seoul, from February 28 to March 1.
On the 26th, a video titled 'Shocking things Wendy faced while studying abroad in the U.S: from being bullied to becoming the top student,' was posted to Youtube. Wendy appeared as a guest and talked about various topics.
On this day, Wendy revealed that she went to study in Canada when she was in 5th grade. She recalled, "I saw how much brighter my older sister became after coming back from studying in Canada, so I told my parents I wanted to go too."
However, reality was not easy. She shared, "I went as soon as I started 5th grade, but I couldn't speak English at all. I wast staying at a foreigner's homestay and I couldn't understand a single word when someone spoke to me. On the very first day, I said I wanted to go back to South Korea." She added, "In 2005, there were no Asians at all, so it was hard. But after a month, I started to speak and understand English little by little. Even when I couldn't fully communicate, school became fun."
Two or three years later, she had another difficult time after transferring from Brockville to Toronto. She said, "The English level there was different, the kids were very chic and acted like snobs. I went to a Catholic school and the students there were very arrogant. There were many different kinds of friends from different races, so I couldn't fit in. That's when the racism started. I ended up eating my lunch in the bathroom because no one would include me."
The discrimination was very blatant. She shared, "When I asked them, 'Can I play with you? Can I play soccer with you all?' they would say, 'No! You're Korean.' I went to the teacher and said, 'They were being racist to me,' but the teacher just said, 'You two go out and talk it out.' Even when the teacher gave us time to talk, they never apologized. I spent a lot of time alone, cried in the lockers room everyday, and ate alone in the bathroom. I felt like school life was going to be really hard."
Eventually, she changed her direction, saying, "So, instead of focusing on studying, I became busy trying to make friends. I hung out with the kids who played the most and naturally, my style changed. In seventh grade, I bleached half of my hair, wore skull tie and suits. It was kind of strange. At that time, I did nothing but eat. I gained over 10 kg in one year."
Eventually, she gained 15kg. She said, "I went to the airport to meet my mom and sister after gaining 15kg. When I got off the plane, they didn't recognize me. They were like, 'What happened to you?' 'Why did you become like this?'"
Saying that on Bubble is also a form of power. Didn't the company have agreements with the performers first before putting the lineup on the poster? I'm so sick of them being treated like gods, but then they act so differently as quick as you flip your hand. If you have so many complaints, please just leaveㅜㅜ

I keep hearing people that Wendy did well and I thought the reason why.
First of all, she obviously suits the song because it's an SM song. But besides that, she enjoyed the stage and it showed. I think she enjoyed performing the song and it made her happy, which radiated happiness and made the people who watched it happy too. And also, she really suits the song, which creates a big synergy between her and the song.
