Moon Gayoung's donations are going beyond simple charity and leading to real results that are changing lives.

The international relief organization Cointree announced that Moon Gayoung's continued support has shown visible results in helping women become independent and providing medical care for children in shantytown areas of Tulum, Mexico.

Following her donation of 100 million KRW to Ewha Woman's University Medical Center last year, Moon Gayoung additionally donated 50 million KRW from the profits of her essay collection 'PATA' to Cointree.

Moon Gayoung communicated directly with the organization to discuss how the funds should be used. As a result, the donations were not only used to support education, but also to help local women find stable jobs. This has led to real changes by helping women, including single mothers, to become financially independent and prevent families from breaking apart.

She also helped build school toilets in areas lacking proper sanitation and set up emergency medical systems for children, creating a foundation to protect kids from preventable diseases.

Her actions have inspired overseas fans to join in voluntarily. After hearing the news of her donation, global fans shared their hearts and participated in this movement across borders.

CEO of Cointree, Han Youngjoon, said, "Moon Gayoung is a leader-type donor who deeply understands the value of donations and carefully considers how they are used and what results they create. Her support has changed women's lives and created a system that saves children." He went on to quote a line from her recent movie, 'Once We Were Us': "Thank you so much for being my home back then," to express gratitude that she became a shelter for local families.

Meanwhile, Moon Gayoung's movie 'Once We Were Us' continues its success as it nears 2.4 million viewers. Riding that momentum, her essay collection, 'PATA,' has also reached its 10th printing and continue to receive steady interest from the public.

Melodrama movie 'Once We Were Us,' starring Koo Kyohwan and Moon Gayoung, has surpassed 1.5 million viewers on its 19th day since release.

Since its release, 'Once We Were Us' has quickly gained momentum through word of mouth. On January 11, just 12 days after its release, the movie surpassed 1 million viewers. It reached its break-even point on January 12, generating a steady stream of good news. Furthermore, on January 14, it climbed to No. 1 in overall advance ticket sales, overtaking 'Avatar: Fire and Ash.'

Reaching 1.5 million viewers in just 19 days, 'Once We Were Us' reached this milestone 1 week faster than 'Decision to Leave,' which took 26 days to reach the same number of viewers. This achievement highlights the 'romance syndrome' that is currently sweeping through theaters once again. 

Meanwhile, even in its 3rd week of release, 'Once We Were Us' continues to prove its strong reputation, maintaining a 97% CGV Golden Egg Index, 9-point range ratings on Naver, and audiences of over 50,000 on week days. Attention is now focused on whether this movie can maintain this pace into its 4th week. 

'Once We Were Us' tells the story of Eunho and Jungwon, former lovers who reunite by chance after 10 years and revisit traces of their memories. This movie is a remake of the 2018 Chinese movie with the same title. The Korean adaptation is starred by Koo Kyohwan and Moon Gayoung, and is directed by the director of 'Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982,' Kim Doyoung.
