Following the phrase 'Let's go to the moon,' this drama becomes an issue overseas because of the character's setting

The issue is because of Kim Woobin's character in the drama being Satan and his name is Iblis. The etymology of Iblis is the same as Satan's: 'The one who tempts and tests humans.' In Islam, Iblis is a demon. For Muslims, it's not just a simple word origin.

From their religious perspective, it's a horrifying and cruel symbol. Therefore, romanticizing or depicting it in a romantic way is considered inappropriate. Right now, the drama is being criticized for lacking religious and cultural sensitivity, especially since it is going to be released globally.

😭😭😭 Woobin's character name is IBLIS?!!! Tf is wrong with kim eunsook

Some comments on Netflix's official account

theqoo

-Just say that his surname is 'Lee' and that his name is 'Bliss'

-They're really complaining about everythingㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

-Controversy aside, the poster is ugly.

-From their perspective, it's like someone messing with their culture. If you're making contents using someone else's culture, you should at least be aware of it.

-This is a sensitive issue. They should be more careful with it.

-Here they go again... They're only nitpicking on Korean works...

-Here we go again.

-Isn't there an American series called 'Lucifer' or something???

-Just don't watch it then.

-What kind of ridiculous nonsense is this?

-This is a bit of a reach...

-This is exhausting.

-What do they expect? Our country even romanticizes grim reapers and goblins.
